Detour

We had to take a big detour today on the way to Dad's, as there had been a multiple accident on the A27 after Fontwell and the road was closed. We doubled back and ended up near Petworth, then came down the A285 to Chichester. We preferred to do this rather than queue all the way down to Bognor. (This is just for my records - it won't mean a thing to anyone not from the area!). Anyway, this photo was taken on part of the rather beautiful detour (it involved views of, then going over, the South Downs range of hills).

Dad was a bit down as he's had a couple of health related probs and also problems with the heating system. It was making a lot of noise today, and Stuart thinks the pump needs replacing as we had similar problems some years ago. The lady that Stuart spoke to at British Gas has arranged for someone to call to sort it in the morning as Dad is a priority because of his age and sight disability. Dad joked that there have to be some advantages to it!
