Car registration

I registered my wife's car today. I only did this for 6 months as car registration costs are set to fall in the second half of the year. We actually did not receive our usual reminder notice with " lost in the post" being given as the likely explanation. This never rests easy with me. What if it was a letter that we were actually looking forward to receiving?
