dinner away from home

This is one of the many times when I wish I had crisper focus. Then I would heartily invite you to look at this large - but please don't bother. What is happening here (on a very small scale I might add) is that the spider is going after a tiny black gnat at 9 o'clock on center of this bloom. It is the first time I have seen a spider try to catch something without a web - hence dinner away from home.
