Rathugala Veddas
The veddas are the indigeneous people of Sri Lanka. The genetic continuum of the veddas date back to 18,000 BCE. They live in the small village of Dambana in Sri Lanka.
The Rathugala Veddas (now living in Ampara) are related to the Dambana Veddas but due to some internal disputes, these two parties are now living seperately. The Rathugala Veddas are a dying race since the old ways are diminishing with the current generation. The 'way of the Vedda' is lost due to lots of hardships that these indigeneous people have to face just to make a living for themselves.
Visit them & help out if you can, but better hurry since in another decade or so, the real Rathugala Veddas will be no more.
