Indulgence

Never have been a great fan of fast food when it comes in the shape of a burger in a bun.  But the thought of a generous tub of ice cream is another matter altogether.
There's a big new shiny drive-thru not far from home and it was my curiosity which led me to explore further and the need to take a closer look at what was on offer. After all I hadn't been to one since taking my granddaughter to one of the same restaurants near Southampton at least 12, maybe more, years ago. Then, I recall the main attraction was a free toy with the mealtime order. Oh yes, and I did stop off for coffee with my brother-in-law at one at Musselburgh, driving back to the Borders from  Edinburgh a while ago.
I had even resisted the temptation of visiting a relatively new one, in design much like this place, not a quarter mile from our daughter's place in the south of France. But then, when regular, and to me much more intriguing, French cuisine can be found almost next door, why should I be tempted?
Back at home, I felt safe to explore . . . and that's when I discovered McFlurry, a generous tub of delightfully creamy ice cream with a crunchy topping.
Maybe not quite the same as my favoured gelato, or indeed the ice cream I make at home. But worth a second visit; in fact today's was my third.
But then ice cream and I can quickly find an affinity for each other!
