Plenty of thunder and lightning with some snow this evening. More snow promised in the next 24 hours so that may provide a new photo.

Winston Churchill has been remembered in a number of TV progammes during the day. Its 50 years since his funeral. The historic film and personal witness interviews are fascinating and more to come tomorrow afternoon. Paxman has just said "we have not seen his like since" - it would appear so but a man of his time who would have been under greater scrutiny in modern times.
