Snowy Snake

The promised snow arrived and enough arrived at once and gently settled to give every branch of every tree a nice even coating.

The A57 Snake Pass was closed (of course) which made it possible to walk up the middle of the road for this shot in relative safety.

I took lots of photos in the wood - https://www.flickr.com/photos/vitalsparks/16398786675/in/photostream and in the usual local haunts but there was't much brightness in the sky so some are not quite as beautiful on screen as they were in real life. I will try some edits.

Just before 10:00 pm a TV crew turned up and set up for a live broadcast report on the conditions. A fairly pointless exercise - it being live that is - they could have recorded it anytime during recent hours for the same effect and been home to watch it. It was fun having the window open to hear the words and the TV on to see and hear again a couple of seconds later :-)
