And an author thing..

I may have mentioned a few hundred times before, that the wonderful novelist Alexander McCall Smith, is a friend of mine. (Well, I refer to him as a friend....he probably calls me the stalker in the pharmacy.)

Anyway, today he gave me a copy of his new novel, a modern take on Jane Austen's Emma. Call me biased, but this is the perfect vehicle for him. Like Miss Austen, Alexander has a perfect ear for dialogue, a sharp wit, and an unsentimental understanding of human nature.

From the little I've already read when I was supposed to be working, this book is a joy. I urge you to go and buy a copy...if only to make up for the fact that I got a freebie.....
