Baby spice

Today has been eventful… mainly for me.

This morning while the weather was cool the boys lay about watching sesame st, then came the sun and the mischief.

This afternoon I took them to the park for a run around only we didn’t stay that long.

In the park we go to there’s a smaller playground near the pool, only there is a bit of a steep bank down to a small stream that’s a bit muddy. While i put Kanye in his chair after a bit of play, Harper walked towards the bank. I called for him.

Marley ran towards him which made Harper think it was a chasing game and he took off further down the bank.
I ran as fast as I could towards him, my thoughts were that he would trip going so fast, fall and tumble down- I was right.

As he neared the edge of the bank he tripped on a tree root and thump! Landed on his tummy. Luckily he just stopped, the motion didn’t carry him on – he didn’t slide nor did he flip over into the water which is what I was picturing.

His head was over the edge of the bank and he stared at the water in surprise at what had just happened. I scooped him up, brushed him off and put him on my back in the carrier. Right time for home I thought.

Only when we got home, mischief continued on in his endeavours. He found my massive bag of popsicle sticks and tipped them all over the floor while I put washing away, I thought well that’s easily cleaned up so I continued on in my efforts to get my house clean-ish.

I found Harper in Marleys room tipping water out of a bottle onto mar’s bed, it went right through so I took all the sheets and duvet off to dry them then went back to putting washing away

After about 5 minutes I suddenly thought it was a bit quiet and that’s never good! I went into the kitchen to find this- Harper had found my 5 spice and tipped it all over the floor, he had rolled in it like a puppy- all over his clothes and face even in his hair. Mar said he was trying to stop him but I secretly think he was trying to play too.

My house and the baby smelt spicy.

As I started to clean it up- popsicle sticks and pegs too, I turned around to see what Harper was doing. There he was, box of herbs in each hand; rubbed sage and mixed herbs being tipped on the floor, and just to add to the destruction he was creating he had taken his nappy off so had herbs all stuck to his bum.

All I could do was sigh.

Andre arrived home shortly after all of this happened,  I opened the door to him and said ‘I’m so glad your home!’ to which he peered inside, waved and jokingly said ‘alright see ya later’.

We cleaned up the herbs and Andre took us all out for a walk to get dinner from the Thai container, it was really good except Harper climbed on the table, started picking all the veges out of mine and throwing them on the ground in search of chicken.

Here I was thinking for the past year and a bit how awesome and placid he was, that he was my easy baby- I think I may have spoken too soon, I feel he’s going to be the really mischievous one who keeps me busy.
