Sculpture on the Point

Went for a lovely walk today around the coastal track and back up through Diamond Harbour village. For the summer months, a local organisation SPRIG has organised sculptures strategically placed to grace our environment. Along side this, are weekly concerts by local performers held at the old Godley House site. This sculpture, created by Hannah Kidd, is called "Dinner for One". The brochure says her work is "inspired by concerns for global environmental issues and our changing domestic environment" and that she uses animals "to convey, often with humour, her deeper intellectual message". Not sure I get what she is saying, but I love how she has shaped the hare and captured it's essence using corrugated iron,  and the way the wind catches the table cloth. I also really appreciate SPRIG's efforts to enliven our community.

My nausea continues and today I was a bit wiped out, needing a long sleep after lunch. Every day is different.
