Trunk

Even though most trees have no leaves in winter beautiful textures and colours can often be seen on their bark.  Viewed (in large) are three of the main types of lichen.   -   the leaf-like foliose, crust-like crustose and branched shrub-like fruticose lichens.   
By late morning the sun had melted the wind blown snow off the tree trunk.
