And The World Turned White
While we slept! A quick squiz at my iphone last night told me the white stiff was predicted for around 4am, but I was rather sceptical. I've made myself get up at 7am (eek!), and sure enough, there it was! It looks like just a dusting though, so I suspect it shan't last long. Which is the way we like it.
I went to dinner last night with T, and his mum who was visiting from Amsterdam for work. Although I was a bit nervous (!), she was lovely, and we had a lovely dinner at Pierre Victoire in Soho. It was marred only by a shriek not ten minutes after we sat down, which when we turned around, a young woman was patting out her hair which had got too close to the candle on the table. Horrible, one of my worst fears, and another reason I usually wear my hair up! Luckily there didn't seem to be any damage done!
After the meal we strolled back to the Dutch pub. I was nervous, as it would mean my old and new worlds may blur and it could be a bit difficult, but T's friends were there and it would have been a shame to miss out. I saw one friend, and said hello, but after a quick survey it looked pretty safe, although we couldn't find S. Just as we were leaving I found her by the exit!
We stayed for a couple of hours, and it was fun! There was a nice (girl) DJ there who does Friday nights, and she played good music. I managed to get T on the dance floor, and we all had fun doing a dance-off and a bit of swapsy-partners :-)
We had to call it a night around 11pm, but that was ok. I would have happily stayed longer, but also didn't want to be on the dreaded last train home!
We took the tube back to Waterloo, grabbed a tea at Pret, and then I took the lovely, quiet train home :-) It's always surprising how quick it is, and I was home by 12:15am. Nice warm bath (freezing outside!), and then bed.
I want to make the most of Saturday, as the weekend always goes so fast! My dad has gone skiing today, and Little R had the pleasure of driving him to his friend's house at 3:30am! This means a week of my mum marching to the beat of her own drum. She'll love it!
