Alnmouth

Drove up to Alnwick today to go with our visiting friends to Alnwick castle. We didn't realise until we got there that the castle and grounds are completely closed for winter. We drove down to Alnmouth for a wander across the dunes and down the beautiful beach. It was bitting cold but a fantastic view along the coast and across to the farne islands. I took quite a few photos but liked the lighting on the dunes here and all the birds on the shoreline.
We retreated for a hot coffee before taking the scenic drive home to Newcastle. This evening we went to our friends house and had a raclette and wine evening.
