Pas de Deux

We started the day with a walk around Lake Wales along the "Florida Bird Trail." I encountered many incredible birds, ibises, Egrets, Pelicans, and these beautiful and very large Sand Hill Cranes.

I wanted very badly to get a shot of a bird in flight, but I have discovered that this is quite difficult. They always seem to fly away from the camera and so I only manage to get them from the rear. I got a number of shots, but none were as blipworthy as these two elegant birds. I will have to keep trying.

We are visiting #2 son, his wife and three of our grandchildren for a few days. We have been so lucky that for the last week we have had sunny weather, in the 60's and low 70's. In the meantime, we have missed several snowstorms and sustained frigid weather back at home. Timing is everything.
