Capturing the Everyday

Attempting to Grow a Banana Palm

At the Waikanae Super Garden Trail we saw a couple of gardens with huge banana palms - with beautiful big leaves around two meters tall that looked stunning against the sunlight

So we’ve bought two and thought we’d give them a try, quite a challenge as I think they like hate winds, frost and prefer good shelter, warmth and good soil. We’ll see.
But it’s just great to try and grow some plants that are a little exotic and different to those we are used to seeing in the UK.
A rainy day today!!!
The land needed it badly :)
