Vila Franca de Xira - 9 AM...
PS.. I saw a butterfly today.. spring is breaking.. at least in Portugal it is... :)
---
Jim went to Lisbon for the service at The Church of Scotland and I drove him to the train station at Vila Franca de Xira ( 18 miles from home) a 25 minutes drive...
I got my camera packed and stayed at Vila Franca's Sation.. the railway station is in the bank of the Tagus, so I went along the river and could do a few shots before the light was to hard to photograph...
That cement and glass building peeping behind the roofs is Vila Franca's new library.. Vila Franca is currently having a Photography Bienal, so I had the chance to see an exhibition at the Library, got coffee and cake and got pretty much entertained reading the last issue of Digital Photography...
When I noticed it was noon... so instead of coming back home I got the train to Lisbon and went to meet with Jim at The Oriente Station in Lisbon.. before meeting him, payed a visito to the mall adjacent to the station, only to droll over cameras, and lenses .. and I got a new tripod... I managed to break my Cullmann one in less than 3 months (great piece of - not so cheap - rubbish it was... Cullmann tripods no more...
I'm delighted with the features of the new one, but that is going to be a future blip. Did not try mine yet, but before I had the chance to do a test drive with a similar model of a friend.
This way I brought Jim back home, again by car, and saved him a bus trip from Vila Franca station to Benavente....
Usually when we meet at The Station in Lisbon we stay for lunch and spend sometime together around, but we left Tina locked at home and I get anxious for leaving the dog alone at home... she is very sweet and calm but one never knows what a lonely dog can do.... it is to cold, specially in morning, to leave Tina in the shed.
