Porty People and Nearby Places

From our house in Porty the Pentland Hills looked Alpine and enticing. When we got there : a short drive to the south from the coast, the snow was much more thinly sprinkled - like pixels in an early teleprinter photo - than we were expecting.

The ground was frozen solid and the patches of ice were surprisingly treacherous. The views were, nevertheless, inspiring and it was lovely to get out in the sub arctic air.

Later, after a late lunch I had a three hour early evening shift as a volunteer before returning to the warmth of the log burning stove and a relaxing evening before another busy working week begins.
