The Royal & Derngate, Northampton.

Tonight was the culmination of a weekend of music. The Royal & Derngate was the venue for the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, conductor Alexander Shelley and piano Alessio Bax.  Our main reason for going was Piano Concerto No 2 by Rachmaninov with Glinka and Shostakovich either side. A wonderful programme and the piano was out of this world. Today’s blip is of the first and second violins beginning to assemble at the start of the evening.  A fabulous evening with an outstanding orchestra.
