Merchant Seafarers War Memorial, Cardiff Bay

This war memorial was commissioned in 1994 and constructed by Brian Fell using traditional ship building methods. The memorial rests on a circular mosaic which was made by artists Louise Shenstone and Adrian Butler. Inscribed around the edge of the mosaic are the words "In memory of the merchant seafarers from the Ports of Barry, Penarth and Cardiff who died in times of war"
