All puffed up!

An unexpected trip to RHS Harlow Carr at Harrogate today which was great as it was quite a pleasant day and not too busy.

It was actually pretty cold with some snow still lying around in the gardens but without the wind it was ok for walking around and the ground was firm.

This little Robin was keeping his feathers puffed out making him look like a little puff ball. I had stopped to watch a little Coal Tit and up popped the Robin as if he was jealous of not getting the attention. They are usually pretty friendly here so I just had to go with him for my blip today.

There was some colour in the garden with Hamamelis flowering as well as Snowdrops and the lovely colours of the winter dogwoods. Inside the summer house and entrance were pots of Hyacynth. What a gorgeous smell!
Despite the cold the day had a feel of Spring, maybe it was the increased light.
