Comfort food

Beans with dippy toast for tea. In a gruffalo dressing gown. Sat on the rug, with a chair for a table. As you do. 

Its been a good day. She slept in a little bit, woke up in a good mood. We cycled to school, avoiding some serious ice patches which she thought were very cool. We cycled home again. She had a few things to say about the time in between, things Poppy had said about her baby and that she'd been a hot dinner. She enjoyed playing Frozen with lots of her friends in the playground and got to be Elsa. She said it was cold and smelly where they did phonics so she sat with her cardi on all day. 

When we got home, she wanted tea straight away then sat down to do some drawing. She asked to write the story that she'd made up yesterday. It was gorgeous. She wrote it so carefully, with beautiful writing, very little help on the spellings. I was super pleased for her as she sat there looking very proud of herself. It was a sweet little story about a snake who was chased by a tiger, but the tiger got scared away by a jumpy frog. Leaving the snake and frog to go play happily in the grass with a snail. She then headed upstairs to play for a while. She stopped half way and changed her mind, coming back down the stairs to spend the rest of the time until bedtime doing more drawing.
