James learned today of the death of a fellow student in his year group. She passed away yesterday following a heart attack. He is shell shocked i think.

Loss is hard at any time. At such a young age it seems infinitely cruel. I, and my friends from my school days, still remember the utter devastation of losing a friend at the end of A level year, the result of a car accident - results day was the day of her funeral - the fact that i had flunked all but 1 of my exams paled into insignificance. Loss like that stays with you.
