Moss on the roof: Tortula muralis, possibly?

I woke way too early, then went into a deep sleep and woke again just before H. was leaving for work at 8am.  The curtains were open revealing a light dusting of snow under a bright blue sky. The sun's rays were just cresting the hills so none of the snow had melted.

I made a cup of tea then thought it would be worth taking a picture and getting a blip done early.  I opened the bedroom window and poked my camera out towards the roof, as the tiny growth of the moss looked particularly pretty with the snow around it.

I think it may be a species called Tortula Muralis, which apparently is extremely common.  I am going to ask my friend John for his opinion.  I expect he will tell me the whole life cycle and it will be fascinating.  If I get  any such nuggets of information I shall certainly add it here.

In the end I didn't manage to blip this until after lunchtime and haven't got the work done which I am procrastinating about.  The sun is still shining, the garden looks beautiful and the birds are happier for my washing their feeder and giving them lots of new food. I couldn't resist watching them for ages either, even the pigeons!
