Icon #2 Alahurin el Grande

This built in mini icon is on the end wall of our house. It was there when we moved in and apparently it is bad luck/not permitted to remove it? We don't mind it as it is a nice feature to the house. It relates to one of the many 'Hermanadas' or Penas in the village (Brotherhoods or clubs) for the church. The women of the brotherhood change the colour of the flowers (artificial) each year. 2013 it was red, 2014 white. There will be a big festival in May 'Fiesta of the Crosses of May' where a large cross strewn with flowers and other decorations will be put up by our house too. The colour will be changed then. On any special occasion a candle is also placed in the wall by the flowers and stays lit until it goes out.
