War graves

The first real snow of the winter. After a walk on the ranges, we called at the Brookwood Military Cemetery. I wonder how many local authorities have fastened those big red plastic poppies to lamp posts? They're everywhere around Woking. I'd assumed they had been put up for the 100th anniversary of the start of WW I, but that was last year. Are they to stay there for all the other anniversaries during the four-year duration of the war? I think it devalues the meaning of the poppy to have these reminders there all the time.
