Blood Donation

Believe it or not, I've been involved in healthcare since my freshman year of high school and never donated blood before. However, my husband's best friend's son was recently diagnosed with neuroblastoma. Since he is receiving weekly chemotherapy he occasionally requires blood products. They held a blood drive at the church where he attends school to help offset their cost as well as adding to the area's supply. So I convinced my needle phobic self that if the small child could tolerate weekly needles multiple times I most definitely could do this. Mom went too.
