Cold Feet

More and more of the local pond has become frozen. Today, the mallards were sleeping whilst standing on the ice. The only area of open water is becoming crowded - mainly with tufted ducks but a pair of swans, some coots and a few mallard are also present.

Notable by their absence are the four cygnets who seem to have finally been chased off to seek their own territories.
