Giant snowflakes

It's minus 18 degrees Celsius today and gloriously sunny. The world always looks so much more hopeful in sunshine!
Went for a walk this morning and found a patch of running water underneath the couple of feet of snow. I loved the way the snowflakes and frost had developed into beautiful decorations. Despite the cold, the running water in the sunshine makes me think of spring.
