Glass and more glass
Well what a day. Got into the hotel room in Doncaster at 22.45 last night, up at 05.30 and then watching glass coming out of furnace and moulded at 07.00. Back on the road to drive 200 miles at 09.00 and sat in a meeting at Midday at H.Q in London. Left the office at 18.15... where did I go wrong..
This glass manufacturing plant was unbelievable. They produce the Nescafé jars, jam jars, bottles for Coke a Cola, bottles for beer, bottles for wine all coming out of the furnace at great speed and smouldering at 500+ degrees. It was snowing outside but being in the desert inside. This image was of the glass fragments being drained out of the tool into water which turned the production line into a scene from the Industrial Revolution.
Visits like today highlights that Britain is still very much in the manufacturing rat race of the World
