A bunch of tubes

Drilling tubulars sitting in one of our cargo bays. Mixture of drill pipe and collars, drill pipe is what is actually ran into the well to drill the hole, on the end of the drill pipe will be a BHA or bottom hole assembly.
What makes up the BHA depends on the operation, the well formation and the required hole size but at it's simplest it will usually be some cross overs, drill collars and a drilling bit right at the end.

This whole "drill string" is then rotated from the rig via the top drive. Imagine a hand DIY electric drill with a drill bit in it, drilling into some wood or metal. Same principle but on a much bigger scale.
