Problem Dog
It was almost unbearably hot in the office this morning due to the heating still being turned on (the Estates Department who have the power to switch it on and off never seem to pay any attention to the weather forecasts). What kept me going was the prospect of an hour's stroll over Chapel Common with the dogs and my camera this afternoon. Unfortunately, when it came down to it, we only made it about 100 metres before we had to turn home after Basil rolled in a massive, fresh cow pat :(
To make matters worse, because I have the bike carrier on the back of the car at the moment I can't get the boot open so the dogs are having to travel around in the front of the car. I put Polly (clean for a change) on the passenger seat and managed to persuade Basil to jump into the footwell and then hotfooted it home and subjected Basil to a serious showering down with copious amounts of soap before cleaning the passenger side of my car - he even got some cow poo in the door speaker!
He is currently a greeny brown colour with a distinctive, grassy cow poo aroma and will be having another, more thorough shower/bath when Son1 (my usual helper) gets home from school shortly.
The nicer, cleaner Basil of yesterday can be seen here.
Update
And the now dazzling white and forgiven Basil can be seen here (he's the one on the right).
