Success!

A family friend is just starting up his own business as an arborist, and today he came to do some work in our garden, getting a large conifer hedge back under control and pruning our crack willow. Alex was assisting him with the ropes and general tidying, and during tea break he got to have a go at climbing the willow tree using the ropes and harness. It was clearly quite hard work, but he managed to get a reasonable way up, and is clearly enjoying the experience.  

The work went very smoothly and I'm thrilled with the result. We now have a lot more light in the garden, but the willow still looks elegant and natural - I hate to see trees that have been left looking ugly!
