Andy Burns - Working in our City

A bright sunny day with a light breeze.

I managed to get to Church this morning. Our Pastor is in Ghana at the moment, preaching and teaching in some churches. We had a visit from Andy Burns, who does a tremendous amount of work in the City of Dundee. He helps organise the Street Pastors, who work from midnight to 3.00am among the young people who visit the pubs and clubs. Just being there for them when they get hurt or need someone to comfort them. Andy was talking to one young man, inside a Club, when the lad got a text telling him his father had just died, from a drug overdose.

Andy is also the Chaplain to Dundee United Football Club and helps support the many people and players associated with the Club.

These are examples of the church working quietly alongside all kinds of people, just being there for them.
