Wound up in Wexford

The results of our labours

Having forgotten to take a picture of this yesterday, I thought I should have on record the results of yesterday's exertions.  The exertions were mostly on the part of Walter - I just picked up the debris and made a pile.  Note the impressive collection of molehills - I see your one, and raise you 4!

We trimmed out a fair number of lower branches, hoping to improve the amount of sun that gets to the grass - that of course assumes we will get any sun this summer.

Behind the oak, and in fact to an extent all mingled together, is a tree that produces small, plum like fruits - possibly a Cherry Plum or some type of damson.  Last year, these fruit were incredibly abundant, and all fell onto our lawn.  Hopefully this year we might be more organised and use at least some of them.  We trimmed this tree slightly as well.

Walter has now gone off to London for the week, and I went over to see dad.  Dad was in bed when I arrived - not unusual, but unusually for him, he did not get up the whole time I was there.  I cooked us steak with potatoes and veg, which dad chose to have sitting up in bed.

I spent some time on his computer, setting it up so he can look at Blipfoto.  He normally uses Internet Explorer as his web browser, but is running on Windows XP - the latest versions of IE do not work with XP, and the older version doesn't run Blipfoto.  So I downloaded Chrome, and set it so when he starts it up, it automatically opens various photo web sites - my sister's blip, my blip, and our Flickr accounts.  It remains to be seen if he manages to avail himself of this.

After dad had finished eating, and had a cup of coffee (decaff), he switched off his bedside light and rolled over - going back to sleep - "just switch off the light on your way out".

So now I'm sitting all on my lonesome (apart from Fido) drinking wine and playing computer games.
