Soft as Butter
This lovely rose is one of many roses that my neighbour has in her garden. It looked so lovely in the soft morning light but It was hard to get a good sharp shot as the wind was blowing so much.
I decided to wash my car today and just as I was finishing there were some big drops of rain.. sadly it didn't come to much. Maybe if I wash my car tomorrow it may rain!
Thank you all very much for your stars and hearts yesterday for the Giraffes.
There was a photo in the Press today but it didn't say much about the event.
This is the write-up the Stands Tall team did on the event:
Hey guys. We took 500 of our Souvenir Guides yesterday and they sold out in less than two hours - whoa! If you still would like to get one there are some left at the Visitor's Centre at the Botanic Gardens and the Transitional Cardboard Cathedral. They're $5 - and now limited editions!
Hey there Christchurch. We were blown away (and so surprised!) by the number of people who came to say goodbye to the Giraffes today - thank you so much for coming along, waiting in the queue and sharing lovely stories and comments with us - thanks! We want to thank Russley Golf Club for hosting us, the amazing team at Christchurch Removals who carefully loaded, unloaded and then loaded and unloaded all 100 Giraffes in one day (!), the volunteers from our four charities; Gap Filler, Life in Vacant Spaces, Child Cancer and Life Education Trust as well as Cedric, Leighton, Gareth, Bruce, and Todd who helped lift the Giraffes, to Olivia who is now in her third trimester but stood on her feet all day greeting people, Steel and Tube for donating metal pegs, Air New Zealand for loaning their cones and hi-vis jackets and just generally looking after our Giraffes, to Shad Rutherford who came along and entertained the patiently waiting children with Giraffe shaped balloons and again EVERYONE WHO CAME - thanks so much, the Giraffes were having the time of their lives showing off one last time. We took this photo to show how it was looking but we'd love you to send any pics that you took!
