Life with Alice

Birthday Girl

This morning, mum made me stay in (our) bed, and came back singing and with presents! I just knew then that this must be my real, one year birthday. And it was! I got a gift wrapped marshmallow Santa that I within a minute or so had unwrapped and wolfed down quickly, in case mum changed her mind about me having it. And I got this huge buddy that I immediately started wrestling with. I don't know his name yet. He has a label that says IKEA Golden, but that can't possibly be his name. We'll see.

Then we had a party with balloons and mum made a cake. A liver pâté-shrimp pancake cake with cream cheese on top. It was very difficult to Wait for a blip... Finally I got it, it was super yummy and I ended up having both my ears covered in cream cheese.

We went on a nice long snowy walkie after that. The Snow Cat was leaning even more to one side due to warm weather. I decided to try a jump, to earn myself a treat. Unfortunately, this made him fall over completely. Mum says it would have happened any minute without assistance, so I didn't feel too bad about it. I also got to play fetch with a new, small sized tennis ball. In the afternoon, we went to grandma and grandpa for coffee, and they gave me lots of cuddles and a big elk raw hide chewing bone. It is absolutely lovely but very tiring being the Birthday Girl.

Mum is thankful and moved today, thinking back to this time last year and the first birthday. She says it is nearly a miracle that we have each other.
