A sign of the times...
Must be Monday. One on mucking cattle, one on mucking out a shed to put sheep in,and me on trying to pump slurry up to the tank. I would have liked to spread it direct onto the grass, but too sticky today. Eventually gave it up as a bad job,as proving too thick to rise the distance to the tank.
Got a phone call from the boss ( Mrs F. ) to say that Junior had spent most of the day at the school matron and I was to go in and bring him home. So had to down tools and head off. Once I had signed for him, made a wee detour on the way home to hand in seed samples of barley and oats to get them germination tested. The place at Roddinglaw is a fairly new science facility. It used to be the known as Seed testing centre at its old site ,but now has the fancy title of SASA, or Science and Advice for Scottish Agriculture (A division of the Scottish Government Agriculture,Food and Rural Communities Directorate ! ) So now you know !
