Christmas Day?!!!
Today is the day mum had been looking forward to since Christmas Day, when she found out we had bought her two tickets to see Richard & Adam ( the duo who won Britains Got Talent ) at the Liverpool Philharmonic! She saw them last year with sis and has never stopped going on about how wonderful they were!
Me & hub picked mum up at hers this morning, then drove back across towards ours and we all went for lunch at Kenyon Hall Farm. We had quiche and salad, mum had a cheese and ham toastie, with several cups of tea;-) there were books on the windowsill that we could flick through whilst sat at the tables, and we found one all about Warrington and its surroundings areas, which included Lymm, which is where mum and dad used to live! This kept mum entertained for a good while! We then had a peruse around the farm shop, they sell all their own meat, cheese, fruit and veg, plus home made bread and cakes!!
After we got to our house, mum was thrilled to find that we had borrowed our friend and neighbours large keyboard and a few music books......Mum can read music and used to play piano rather well. She whiled away a good couple of hours tinkling the ivories and then said this is the best Christmas Day! ;-)
We had a light tea, then a quick wash and brush up before we drove off towards Liverpool for the show. We left at 6.20 for a 7.30 start, and we should have had time to spare, but unbeknown to me, Everton were playing at home, so the traffic was mega busy......luckily I pulled up outside the hall at 7.25 dropped mum off, left her with " a nice young man" who said he would take her to her seat, whilst I parked up and as they say "legged it" back, with a couple of minutes to spare :-)
I have to say Richard and Adam were fantastic........a very enjoyable show.....mum loved it :-) again!
I drove back to mums house.....we got in about 11, had a cuppa and a toasted teacake before bed. It's a long time since I've had asleep over ;-) night all x
