Gavi

We left the heat of Madurai and drove across the plains of Tamil Nadu towards the border with Kerala. While we have met some very friendly people in Tamil Nadu we have the impression that they are more reserved towards foreigners.
Hari , our driver was very concerned today because there is a general strike in Kerala and he may encounter difficulties if he is working. He decided to risk the trip to our next destination as it is very close to the border. We all breathed a sigh of relief as we passed the forest department check - post and drove the 23 km along forest roads to Gavi wildlife sanctuary. We looked across the Western Ghats at the hills in the distance. This photo does not really do the view justice , but maybe gives an impression of this beautiful land.
