Quacks

Tonight was my review appointment with the Nurse, following on from my blood test.

Everything was ok apart from a slightly raised liver function level and also slightly raised cholesterol.

I'm sure the nurse thought I was a lying cow when questioned about my lifestyle. But I rarely ever drink and I think we eat healthily at home.
Sure we eat out, and have a takeaway most Friday's, but at home we eat plenty of fruit and veg, and I always home cook rather than ready meal.

The nurse (although lovely) seemed hell bent on pinning something on me.
'What about fried food?'

'Rarely. We might have the occasional fried egg for Sunday breakfast'

'Oh....eggs are bad for you. You should limit them to 3 per week'.

Seriously? If I have 3 a month it's pushing it!

She also said about switching from butter to margarine, but I said I'm loathed to eat something as synthetic as that, plus the fact that the news this week has said butter isn't actually that bad for you after all.
Again, the amount of butter we use is minimal.

She gave me a booklet to 'help me curb' my cholesterol and said they will do another test in 3 months time to check it again.

Egg and chips for tea anyone?!
