The sun going down
I took a trip down to the river this evening, looking for a photo. The water level is very low at the moment, like a lot of the South Island. The East Coast has today been declared an official drought zone by the government, with some places having only 10 days left of water before they completely run dry. Farmers are sending their stock to the works, while others are spending thousands of dollars on supplement feed. It's very sad.
We are dry, but have had intermittent rain which has produced patches of green grass in the paddocks, so thankfully are not as worse off as the East Coast.
I took many photo's tonight, but love this one portraying the dryness of the grass on the riverbank. Enlarge it to get its true effect.
