The Joys of Reading
Another thing that cold, grey winter afternoons are good for, apart from making bread and soup, is curling up with a good book of course. A trip to the library this afternoon yielded a real find: a novel by Tim Powers that I haven't read. It's set in Victorian London, in 1862, and features Christina Rossetti as one of its main characters - can't wait to get stuck into it.
As always, I'm very grateful for the fact that we have such a modern, well-equipped library here - long may it thrive in the face of funding cuts.
