A little colour amongst the greyness

Yet another very drab grey day!
We had to wait in this morning for a delivery, other than a quick pop out for a newspaper! After lunch we decided to go to the Flash for a walk, with trusty camera too of course ;-)

It was quite chilly, but pleasant enough, a bit brighter than of late, but not a bit of blue sky to be seen.........just like the elusive Kingfisher! I did see it a total of three times, once with a fish in its beak, but each time it was as we were walking away or arriving at the river bank, never when I was poised ready and waiting :-(

We saw lots of birds, and even that bird that I mentioned a couple of weeks ago, which turned out to be quite a rare sighting of a Water Rail!

Hub got fed up of hanging around waiting for Kingy to appear, so we went on a circular walk to warm up a bit. I took lots of shots, this being the most colourful, considering the greyness of the day, we both picked this one to share with you!
