Hatched.

The caterpillars of the monarch butterflies receive special treatment around here to ensure their survival. If left unattended they become prey to the wasps we have . Accordingly we have put netting over the swan plants to keep the wasps away.Of course grandson was eager to see a chrysalis hatch into a butterfly but,whilst we were away,this butterfly hatched out of the dry chrysalis left hanging beside it. So,disappointment not to witness the hatching but, satisfaction at  the successful hatch.
