Books

Here are the 4 books I'm reading.

The WEA class was today and we are still getting to grips with Plato. We discussed his ideas on education which of course led to our ideas. It is such a wonderful group, with the most skilful teacher. We are certainly getting educated!

The Robert Harris is for next month's book group. It's about the Dreyfus affair, and I'm sure it'll be a good, easy read.

The Orwell is there because my friend Jenny and I are hoping to visit Burma on an Explore holiday, possibly in November. We'd not only sightsee, but also do some walking and spend some nights in a monestery. This book is novel based on Orwell's experiences as a policeman in Burma and is a devasting picture of British colonial rule.

The Lonely Planet arrived today and I'm really excited about it as Mr C has agreed we can plan a trip there for early next year. This is a big sacrifice for him as the best time to go (but if you know better please advise me) is Jan-March which is our Alpine ski season. I'm suggesting we ski for a week then go. But where to start? There is SO much of interest. We want to walk of course, and see friends who live there. I'm hoping any of you who have been will come up with some great ideas to make a varied and fun trip. Mr C says I can do a bungee jump as it is free for over 60s.
