Who remembers Little Grey Rabbit?
When I was young I loved the series of books called Little Grey Rabbit by Alison Uttley. For some reason, Beatrix Potter did not feature in my extensive library, but Little Grey Rabbit and her friends were favourites. The books are beautifully illustrated by Margaret Tempest.
My mother particularly liked the Little Grey Rabbit card game. The wise owl presides. His part is not taken by a player, but by a card. As each player turns over his or her cards, there are clear instructions as to what to do. So, in this afternoon's game Ted has the card "Fox gives 2 to Wise Owl for his cruelty". The dolls have "Hare gives 1 to tabby cat for his supper" and "Grey Rabbit receives 2 from Wise Owl for finding him a house". They all refer to incidents in the stories. There is no arguing because Wise Owl is in charge!!
It's been a very dark, dank day here. I've been taking it easy and finally managed to book 3 bus journeys in Spain, although only 2 tickets will print out.....
