The Kowhai Stream Returns

Overnight rain in the Tara Haoa range behind us has seen the Kowhai Stream flow rise over the last 24 hours, to the point that crossing the ford today was a bit difficult for anything but 4WD vehicles. 

The dogs and I thought we'd go and check it out after my neighbour called to let me know. Zoey , seen here, was unimpressed that many of her sniff spots were now underwater...

I'm guessing the water will soon subside, but in the meantime we're happy that our water tanks are full once more.
