Llyn Fawr reservoir, Cynon Valley, South Wales.

This reservoir is quite famous in that it had been found to contain a hoard of weapons and tools from the late Bronze age. This was originally a natural lake which was converted into a reservoir in the early 20th century and I think it was at this time that the hoard was discovered. In addition to Bronze age items being found, several iron age objects were found including spears, chisels, axes, sickles and cauldrons. One of the cauldrons, known as the Llyn Fawr Cauldron is made from hammered bronze, 1-2 millimetres thick and is so big that you cannot wrap your arms around and weighs in at a massive 7580 grams. (17 lbs)
