Budding in Spring
Maybe this is a sign that we are further south than we normally are. Looking at the rest of the plant, I think that this is a hydrangea but with other small buds further down the stem. I really liked the waxy appearance of the buds and they also look like those shaped candle bulbs you can buy - but much much smaller of course!
We went to see the snowdrops at Kingston Lacy in Dorset. They were beautiful - many different varieties in abundance, but some of the other colours were beginning to compete with the delicate white of the snowdrops. There were some striking purple/maroon/gold twigs in some parts of the woodland walks and the kitchen garden which is being restored to order was also very impressive. The House is not yet open for the season but it was worth going to see the grounds.
We spent some time wandering around Wareham where successful shopping of fresh products and other fashion products were acquired.
Marks and Spencer Valentine's meal has been consumed, now preparing for "Spiral" tonight.
