Scarborough Harbour

Checking the beams on a scallop dredger
which will be away before dawn but, thanks
to a local campaign of crab and lobstermen
whose livlihoods have been threatened, this
vessel will have to be six miles out to sea before
there is any dredging. This limit extended from
three to six miles applies until July when it is
hoped it will become permanent. Informed
sources tell me that these larger vessels have
the gear to operate further out to sea.
